Brandy Is Open to Returning for 'I Know What You Did Last Summer' Sequel

Brandy is fully down to return for the upcoming reboot of I Know What You Did Last Summer. In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the singer and actress discussed her interest in reprising her role as Karla Wilson in the upcoming film.

"I would love to do it," Brandy said. "I think it would be great to see where Karla is now and what she's been up to all these years." The original I Know What You Did Last Summer was released in 1997 and starred Brandy alongside Sarah Michelle Gellar, Jennifer Love Hewitt, and Freddie Prinze Jr. The film was a critical and commercial success, and it spawned two sequels, I Still Know What You Did Last Summer (1998) and I'll Always Know What You Did Last Summer (2006). Sony Pictures is currently developing a reboot of the franchise, which is set to be released in July 2025.

Brandy said she would be particularly interested in seeing how Karla's character has evolved since the events of the original film. "I think she's a very complex character," Brandy said. "She's made some mistakes in her life, but she's also a survivor. I think it would be great to see her come full circle and find redemption."

Brandy also said she would love to work with Jennifer Love Hewitt and Freddie Prinze Jr. again. "They're both such great actors," Brandy said. "I think it would be a lot of fun to get to work with them again." Sony Pictures has not yet announced any casting for the upcoming reboot of I Know What You Did Last Summer.
