Cavs Coaches: Mike Brown and J.B. Bickerstaff
Mike Brown
Two-time head coach Mike Brown coached the Cavaliers from 2005 to 2010 and again during the 2013-14 season. During his first stint, he led the Cavs to their first NBA Finals appearance in franchise history in 2007. He was named the NBA Coach of the Year in 2009.
2013-14 Season
In his second stint with the Cavs, Brown led the team to a 33-49 record, which was an improvement over their 24-58 record the previous season. However, he was fired after the season due to the team's struggles.
J.B. Bickerstaff
John-Blair Bickerstaff, born March 10, 1979, is an American professional basketball coach who is the head coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers. He previously served as the interim head coach of the Memphis Grizzlies and the head coach of the Houston Rockets.
Cavaliers Head Coach
Bickerstaff was named the head coach of the Cavaliers in February 2020. He led the team to a 19-20 record in the shortened 2019-20 season and a 22-50 record in the 2020-21 season.
Contract Extension
In April 2022, Bickerstaff received a multiyear contract extension from the Cavaliers. The terms of the extension were not disclosed, but it is believed to be a three-year deal.
